TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Kylie Davis, an 11-year-old student at La Salle Institute, is getting a jumpstart start on her acting career locally. The sixth grader can be seen soon on the new season of The Gilded Age.
One of her first professional acting experiences was doing background work on the set of the TV show, Life & Beth, with Amy Schumer. Most notably, you might recognize Davis in the final scene of the horror movie, SMILE 2.
“Going on sets and stuff is really cool to begin with,” said Davis.
Davis was cast as an actress doing featured background work in season 3 of The Gilded Age, premiering June 22 on HBO. For each role she books, it isn’t just her signing on, it’s the whole family. Despite the long hours, and all the driving, her father says it’s been worth it.
“It’s just fun to see her blossom and grow and hopefully if she does keep going with this, hopefully [we will] see her in big roles. Somebody sees her and gives her an opportunity and if that works out for her, and I hope she likes it, then we did our job in life for her,” said Valjean Davis, Kylie’s dad.
