TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Plattsburgh forged a dual admissions partnership on Friday. The agreement started in late Fall.

Under the new agreement, students can apply to both institutions at once and gain a path to earning their bachelor’s degree at SUNY Plattsburgh. The partnership offers over 50 program-to-program pathways across the schools of health sciences, business and liberal arts, and STEM.

Officials said 1.2 million students transfer between colleges each year in the United States and students lose 40 percent of their credits. The agreement aims to prevent that for both groups of students.
