ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The E-ZPass and Tolls by Mail websites will be upgraded in April, consolidating the websites to include for self-service functions and an easier interface. The Tolls NY mobile app will also be getting improvements during the upgrade period, per the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Bridges and Tunnels, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and the New York State Thruway Authority.

The system will be offline from 7 p.m. on April 9 to 11:59 p.m. on April 14 for these upgrades. Customers won’t be able to view account information or make changes or payments on the website and mobile app during this offline period.

The Tolls by Mail customer service number will also be discontinued and the E-ZPass customer service line will not be available while updates are being made. Once the upgrades are complete, the E-ZPass customer service line number, (800) 333-8655, will be the all-in-one number for E-ZPass and Tolls by Mail customers.

The new, consolidated website for E-ZPass and Tolls by Mail will be found at e-zpassny.com. New features include a live chat, new payment options with Apple Pay and Google Pay being accepted on the app and website, a streamlined customer service center, redesigned Interactive Voice Response for callers to get or provide information, more self-service functionality, and a new toll bill format.

Customers are encouraged to make payments or account changes before April 9, but late fee charges and escalations to collections will be temporarily delayed and Tolls by Mail payment due dates will be temporarily extended until after the new site goes live. Transactions accumulated during the upgrade period will also be processed on a temporarily staggered basis following the go-live date for the website.
