NEW YORK STATE (NEWS10) — Beginning on Saturday, May 24, New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) facilities will only be open for visitation on the weekends. DOCCS said the change was due to staffing shortages.
Weekday and holiday visits are suspended. Normal weekend visitation rules remain in effect. Length of visits may be capped due to an anticipated high volume of visitors.
DOCCS does not have a date, yet, for resuming weekday and holiday visitation.
