2025 village elections around the Capital Region

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– March 18 is election day for village voters across the state and across the Capital Region. Here is a list of elections happening in Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady Counties.

Albany County:

Village of Altamont- 1 Mayor, 2 Trustee, 1 Village Justice positions:

  • Mayor Kerry Dineen, Trustee John Sally, Trustee Sandra Serafino and Justice James Greene are all seeking reelection, and running unopposed under the Altamont First Party.

Village residents can vote at the Village Hall, 115 Main Street, from noon to 9 p.m.

Village of Colonie- 1 Trustee position:

  • Trustee Mark Stevens is looking to be reelected, to finish a one-year term. Stevens is not running on a party line.

Voting will take place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Village Hall, 2 Thunder Road.

Columbia County:

Village of Chatham- 1 Mayor, 2 Trustee positions:

  • Mayor John Howe and Trustees Peter Minahan and Ralph O’Mara-Garcia are all running unopposed on the Chatham Forward Party.

Residents can vote at the Tracy Memorial Village Hall, 77 Main Street, from noon to 9 p.m.

Village of Philmont- 1 Mayor, 2 Trustee positions:

  • Mayor Brian Johnson and Trustees Jason Detzel and Clarence “Skip” Speed are all running for reelection, unopposed.
  • Johnson is running under the Heritage Party, Detzel is running under the Homestead Party and Speed is running under the Peoples Party.

Voting will take place at the Village Meeting Hall, 124 Main Street, from noon until 9 p.m.

Village of Kinderhook- 2 Trustee positions:

  • Vilhjal Campbell is running on a Broad Street Party Line.
  • Astrid Montagano is running on a Kinderhook People’s Party line.
  • Joseph Wildermuth is running on a Kinderhook People’s Party line also.

Current Trustees Quinn Murphy and James Mark Browne are not seeking reelection. Voting will take place at the Village Hall, 6 Chatham Street, from noon to 9 p.m.

Greene County:

Village of Catskill- 2 Trustee positions:

  • Incumbent Trustee Natasha Law is running on Democratic and Forward Together platforms.
  • Former Trustee Peter Grasse, III, is running on Republican and Village Vision platforms.

Trustee Jamie Hyer-Mitchell is not seeking reelection. Village residents can vote at the Catskill Fire Company, 1 Central Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Village of Athens- 1 Mayor, 2 Trustee positions:

  • Mayor Amy Serrago is looking to be reelected as mayor and is running as a Democrat.
  • Incumbent Trustee Alison Phoenix is seeking reelection for her trustee position, running as a Republican.
  • Sandra Miller is running for trustee as a Republican.
  • James Ewing and Diane Eastwick are also running for a trustee seat under the Democratic Party.

Village residents can vote at the Rivertown Senior Center, 39 2nd Street, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Village of Coxsackie- 1 Mayor, 2 Trustee positions:

  • Mayor Mark Evans is seeking reelection as mayor and is running as a Republican.
  • Incumbent Trustee Rodney Levine is seeking reelection, running as a Republican.
  • Christopher Hanse is running for an unexpired trustee position as a Democrat.

Village residents can vote at the Coxsackie Village Hall, 119 Mansion Street, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Village of Hunter- 1 Trustee position:

  • Jason DiLeo is seeking reelection as a trustee, running as a Republican.

Village residents can vote at the Hunter Fire Department, 17 Bridge Street, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Village of Tannersville- 1 Mayor, 2 Trustee positions:

  • Deputy Mayor and Trustee David Kashman is seeking election for the mayor seat and is running under both Democratic and Republican platforms.
  • Former Mayor Dr. Lee McGunnigle is seeking the mayor seat, running under the Friends of Tannersville platform.
  • Kody Leach is seeking a trustee seat under both Democratic and Republican parties.
  • Gil Adler is seeking a trustee seat, running as a Democrat.
  • Stephen Tuomey is running as a Republican for a trustee seat.
  • Rebecca Fitting also seeks a trustee seat but is running under The Village platform.

Current Mayor David Schneider is not seeking reelection. Trustee Dylan Legg is also not seeking reelection. Village residents can vote at the Tannersville Village Hall, 974 Main Street, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Rensselaer County:

Village of Castleton-on-Hudson- 2 Trustee positions:

  • Incumbent Trustee Susan Penn is seeking reelection, running under The Future is Bright Party.
  • Eric Michael Stewart is seeking the second trustee position, under the Be Kind and Have Courage Party.

Baileen Bali is not seeking reelection. Residents can vote at the Village Office, 85 South Main Street, from noon to 9 p.m.

Village of Hoosick Falls- 1 Mayor, 2 Trustee positions:

  • Trustee Doug Sauer is running for mayor under the Community Care Party.
  • Dough Schuttig is also running for mayor but under the Taxpayers Party.
  • Incumbent Trustee Robert Ryan is seeking reelection, as Kevin O’Malley and Todd Burdick are running for another trustee seat.

Current Mayor Robert Allen is not seeking reelection. Also, Trustee Megan Walraed is also not seeking reelection. Residents can vote at the Municipal Building, 24 Main Street, from noon until 9 p.m.

Saratoga County:

Village of Corinth- 1 Trustee position:

  • Tyler Kirchhoff is running unopposed to fulfil a resigning position.

Trustee Dean Brown is resigning before the end of his term. Voting will take place at the Village Hall, 244 Main Street, from noon to 9 p.m.

Village of South Glens Falls- 1 Mayor, 2 Trustee positions:

  • Incumbent Mayor Nicholas Bodkin is seeking reelection under the 46 Saratoga Avenue Party.
  • Current Trustee Joseph Orlow is running for the mayor seat as a Republican.
  • Timothy Fuller, Keith Comstock and Claude Middleton are all seeking trustee seats.

Current Trustees Tony Girard and Harry Gutheil Jr are not seeking reelection. Voting will take place at Village Hall, 46 Saratoga Avenue, from noon to 9 p.m.

Schenectady County:

Village of Delanson- 1 Mayor, 1 Trustee positions:

  • Incumbent Mayor Gayle Gifford and Incumbent Trustee Josh O’Connor are seeking reelection and are running unopposed.

Voting will take place at Village Hall, 1797 Main Street, from noon to 9 p.m.

Incumbents in Cambridge, Fort Ann, Argyle and Fort Edward are all running to retain their seats. For information on your polling place or to register to vote in future elections, visit the New York State Board Of Elections website.
